Volunteers Needed in Rotherham Library
Are you aged from 13 to 24 living in Rotherham with some spare
time on your hands over the summer break?
Would you like to meet new friends, build your confidence and
gain valuable skills for future employment?
If so, you would be perfect for the Rotherham Library Service,
which is searching for a team of young volunteers willing to help with their
annual national summer reading challenge.
Each year the Rotherham Library Service challenges children to
read six books over the summer holidays.
This year's national summer reading challenge, “Record Breakers”,
takes place over the holidays in libraries across the borough, with the
registration of children taking place from Saturday July 11.
Enthusiastic young volunteers are needed to assist with giving
some time in libraries to register children, listen to them talk about the
books they have read during this year’s challenge and support library staff
with the holiday activities. You could even be a Record Breakers volunteer
reporter!
The closing date for applications for young volunteers is Friday June 12 and more
information and details about applying are available here.
