International Women's Day

Saturday 8th March is International Women's Day which is an annual event that celebrates women's achievements across the globe.

There are numerous events taking place across South Yorkshire to mark the occassion including a whole programme of free workshops being held in Sheffield Town Hall on Saturday 8th March entitled 'Challenging Stereotyping and Empowering Girls and Women' .

Here at TRC we have a speaker from Sheffield Hallam University coming in to College on Thursday 6th March to discuss the Gender and Equality and Domestic Labour Debate.  All are welcome to attend - so check out posters around college for timings.

We also have a display in the LRC that features many women's achievements including information about Queen Victoria, Anne Frank, Florence Nightingale and much more.

International Women's Day is very much about inspiring change and alongside celebrating the social, political and economic achievements of women it provides an opportunity to learn more about areas that still require action in order to create a more equal world.   So why not take this opportunity to find out more and see what you can do to make a difference and ensure that the future for girls and women is bright, equal, safe and rewarding.
