International Women's Day

Theme: Pledge for Parity
Tuesday 8 March 2016
Today is International Women's Day, which highlights the cultural, economic, political and social achievements of women across the globe.  There is much to be celebrated today but, progress towards gender parity has slowed down in many places across the world.  Leaders across the world are pledging to take action as champions of gender parity.

The theme for the day is pledge for parity.  Individuals can help by pledging to move from talking about gender parity to purposeful action, allowing men and women from around the world  to join forces to help collectively with advancing women equally, to allow them to globally realize their potential. Further information about International Women's Day can be found on the web site at www.internationalwomensday.comGo to pledge for parity now and show your support.

Come and take a look at the display in the LRC depicting women achievers from around the world, with various resources on or by women available for loan from the LRC.
